Labiaplasty

Labiaplasty

Labiaplasty is performed to improve the appearance of the labia minora and the labia majora. The procedure could aim at reducing the size of the labia minora or the labia majora, if they are very large (hypertrophy). The hypertrophy could be due to congenital causes or to the effects of childbirth. The procedure could also aim at increasing the fullness of the labia majora, whose decreased size could be due to atrophy.

Emotional issues, the decrease in sensibility and the lack of satisfaction during sexual intercourse, as well as chronic irritations usually caused by friction and life style changes are some of the numerous reasons for the growing demand for this procedure.

Brief description of the procedure

Labia reduction surgery

This procedure requires local anesthesia. However, in cases of complex surgical procedures, general anesthesia is preferred in order for the patient to be at ease. After careful preparation, the excess skin is removed from the labia minora or the labia majora, depending on the case, and the incisions are closed. Dr. Varnalidis aims at achieving an aesthetic and functional result.

Labia augmentation surgery

This procedure requires local anesthesia. However, in cases of complex surgical procedures, general anesthesia is preferred. The augmentation of the labia majora is achieved using the lipofilling technique. The adipose tissue that is extracted through liposuction is injected in the labia majora after being processed. Dr. Varnalidis uses this technique in cases that meet certain criteria.

Safeguarding your health is my number one priority.

Dr. Varnalidis always discusses and explains each procedure step by step. He also offers extensive post-surgery advice and is here to answer any question you might have, so that a smooth recovery and the best functional and aesthetic outcome are achieved.
