Thigh lift and buttock augmentation

Thigh lift and buttock augmentation

Thigh lift and buttock augmentation (Brazilian butt lift) are among the most popular surgical procedures that are performed each year. The thighs and buttocks of many women lose their firmness and begin to sag after a pregnancy or a massive weight loss. Both procedures fall under the category of body contouring surgery and aim at achieving the desired body shape.

Thigh lift surgery is performed after removing the excess skin and body fat. In regard to buttock augmentation surgery, body fat is relocated in the buttock area through the use of implants or adipose tissue from the patient’s own body. The body fat that is extracted from the patient is injected in the buttock area after being processed.

Choosing the implants

Buttock implants vary and they are different from breast implants. The patient’s body type, skin elasticity and expectations are factors taken into account in order to choose the right implant. A number of measurements that are necessary in order to achieve the best aesthetic outcome are also carried out.

Implant quality assurance is very important for this operation. Dr. Varnalidis always uses the safest materials and implants that have been certified and approved.

Using tissue from the patient’s own body

Buttock augmentation surgery can also be performed using adipose tissue from the patient’s own body. The extracted body fat of the patient can be used in many different plastic surgery procedures, as well (liporecycling). In certain cases, buttock augmentation using body fat can be very successful in women. The patient’s body fat is extracted through liposuction during the operation and inserted in the buttock area using a specialized technique.

Brief description of the procedure

Thigh lift

This procedure requires general anesthesia. After careful preparation, an incision is made along the inguinofemoral fold in the inner thigh area. The excess skin and body fat are removed and the incision is closed.

Buttock lift and augmentation (Brazilian butt lift)

This procedure requires general anesthesia. After careful preparation, an inconspicuous incision is made in a natural skin fold between the buttocks. Then, the appropriate pockets are created and the implants are symmetrically inserted over the gluteal muscles or inside them (intramuscularly). Finally, the incision is closed. In cases when buttock augmentation surgery is performed using the fat grafting technique, the procedure is as follows: firstly, body fat is extracted via liposuction and then it is injected in specific areas of the buttocks.

Dr. Varnalidis specializes in both techniques and he chooses the most appropriate one each time, depending on the case. Using adipose tissue from the patient’s own body results in a faster recovery and no post-surgery scarring, while a more natural result is also achieved through this technique.

Safeguarding your health is my number one priority.

Dr. Varnalidis always discusses and explains each procedure step by step. He also offers extensive post-surgery advice and is here to answer any question you might have, so that a smooth recovery and the best functional and aesthetic outcome are achieved.
